Car painting

Our lovely and creative neighbour lent wee man a little plastic car last week so we could try out some tyre track painting.  Most of the wee man’s cars are Mr H’s Corgi hand me downs and I didn’t think they’d make very good tyre patterns or be easy to wash.  I made a few lines of paint and then gave wee man the little elephant car to ‘drive’ through the colours.  It was spectacularly effective and made great patterns which resulted in a few ‘ooo’s from the wee man and then a quick ‘beep beep’ as the elephant car reversed back over the paint lines.  He enjoyed washing the car in the sink too and seeing how the water changed colour.  I’d love to try this again.  Maybe on black paper with some white dashes to make it look like a road.  It’s a great early paint activity because a small car is easier to hold than a paint brush and probably more fun too.
