Paint and wellies

The weather was beautiful on Saturday.  Properly warm and sunny and perfect for a spot of painting in the garden.  I’d been waiting for a sunny day so A and I could try out the welly boot painting I spotted over at The Imagination Tree.  So while Mr H busied himself painting the new backdoor a classy shade of lichen, A and I got to work with poster paint and welly boots.

I wasn’t sure how he’d react to getting his boots all painty but he jumped in with only a moment’s hesitation. ‘Jump jump jump!’ he squealed as he stamped his way across the cardboard canvas.  We looked at the big Mummy boot prints and the wee man prints and talked about colours and jumped and laughed and laughed some more, so much so that by the end A was happily stamping along in his bare feet.  My little dirt-shy boy all covered in paint!  He even loved washing his feet with the watering can and jumping barefoot in the mucky puddle.  By far the most fun we’ve had we’ve paint.
