Springtime water play

We’d planned to do some arty things this afternoon but the wee man wanted to go straight into the garden and who could blame him with the sun shining and the birds singing.  I grabbed a box I’d been filling with Easter bits and bobs and we added some water.

The box of Easter delights has been out for a week or two now (ever since I got a little overexcited by the plastic eggs in the pound shop) but it’s amazing how much interest a drop of water can add.  The wee man was fascinated by trying to get the plastic egg halves to float, stacking them in his hands and pouring water from them into some silicon cupcake case.  He also enjoyed fishing the glittery pom poms out with a spoon.  However what he wanted to do most of all was use a little wooden spoon to gulp down the water.  He was amazingly good at it.  We shall have to have soup soon!
